START WITH CORE COVER

Vitality's Business Healthcare plan is designed with you and your employees in mind. Through their health insurance, they make sure you and your employees get access to the best possible medical care if they get ill.

Core Cover benefits include:

  • In-patient and Day-patient Treatment Open or Close

    Hospital fees

    If any of your employees are admitted to hospital as an in-patient or a day-patient, Vitality cover their costs subject to the terms and conditions of the plan. This includes overnight stays, nursing, and any drugs they might need while in hospital. Vitality will also cover the costs of intensive care treatment and operating theatre charges.

    Consultant fees

    As long as the employee's consultant is registered with an accredited body and recognised by Vitality, the in-patient and day-patient fees will be covered in full, providing the treatment is covered on the plan. So your employees won't be asked to make up any shortfall.

    Diagnostic tests

    If your employees are admitted to hospital as an in-patient or a day-patient, Vitality pay for the diagnostic tests they need – things like blood tests and x-rays.

  • Vitality GPOpen or Close

    Vitality GP offers your employees access to a GP at a time and place that suits them. Using the Vitality GP app they’ll be able to talk directly to a Vitality GP and have a private GP video appointment. They’ll be offered a choice of GPs, based on their symptoms and the GP specialism and they’ll have the ability to securely upload images taken with a smartphone for them to view.

  • Extended Cancer CoverOpen or Close

    If your employees are diagnosed with cancer, Vitality will cover them for all eligible in-patient and out-patient costs relating to their treatment, including:

    • Radiotherapy, chemotherapy and follow-up consultations
    • Biological therapies
    • Hormone and bisphosphonate therapies
    • Cancer surgery and reconstructive surgery
    • End of life Home Nursing care up to £1,000 per day for a maximum of 14 days
    • Stem cell therapy
    • Scalp cold capping
    • Wigs and restyling up to £300 per claim
    • Mastectomy bras and external prostheses up to £200 per claim


    If their cancer is no longer treatable, Vitality will provide them with the care that is needed to relieve any symptoms. This includes pain relief at the end stage of cancer.

    Everyone starts with Extended Cancer Cover however you can downgrade this to Cancer Cover which applies a 12 month limit on the use of biological therapies. It will also apply a three month limit on hormone or bisphosphonate therapy when prescribed on their own.

  • NHS Hospital Cash BenefitOpen or Close

    If your employees choose to have NHS treatment rather than being treated privately through their plan, they could claim back a cash amount:

    • £250 for each night they stay in an NHS hospital (up to £2,000 per plan year)
    • £125 for day-patient treatment (up to £500 per plan year)
  • Childbirth Cash BenefitOpen or Close

    Vitality will give your employees a cash payment following the birth or adoption of a child (the payment following a birth only applies if they have been on the plan for at least 10 months). Vitality pay once per child even if both parents are covered on the plan.

  • Pregnancy ComplicationsOpen or Close

    Vitality cover in-patient and day-patient treatment if your employees suffer from:

    • ectopic pregnancy
    • miscarriage
    • missed abortion
    • still birth
    • post partum haemorrhage
    • retained placental membrane
    • hydatidiform mole
  • Oral SurgeryOpen or Close

    Vitality cover some specified surgical procedures including the removal of impacted teeth, buried teeth and complicated roots.

  • Home NursingOpen or Close

    If your employees’ consultant recommends home nursing instead of more in-patient treatment, Vitality will cover their home nursing costs to help them get back on their feet after a stay in hospital.

  • Private AmbulanceOpen or Close

    The use of a private ambulance for transfer between hospitals, whether NHS or private, is covered if a consultant recommends it as medically necessary.

  • Parent AccommodationOpen or Close

    Some of your employees might have a child under 14 on their plan. If the child needs to stay in hospital overnight, Vitality pay for hospital accommodation so that one insured parent can stay with them.

  • Assistance at HomeOpen or Close

    If your employees have been in hospital for more than 3 days, for any condition eligible on their plan, they’ll be entitled to Assistance at Home. From cleaning, to help getting in and out of bed, Assistance at Home will allow them to recover where they’re most comfortable. The benefit is subject to a needs assessment, and provides a maximum of 28 hours care per claim. Where there is more than one claim in a plan year, the benefit is limited to 84 hours care in total.

  • Lifestyle SurgeryOpen or Close

    These benefits will require a member co-payment of 25% of the retail rate for the initial consultation and following treatment.

    Surgery will be available to members with a BMI of 35 or greater (with co-morbidity) or BMI 40+ (with no co-morbidity), subject to clinical approval.




CHOOSE COVER OPTIONS

You can tailor the plan to suit your employees and your budget by adding other cover options.

Business Healthcare Cover Options:

  • Out-patient CoverOpen or Close

    If you choose to add Out-patient Cover, your employees will be covered for seeing consultants outside a hospital admission. This reduces the waiting time for results, and significantly reduces the waiting time to be treated.

    This cover includes:

    • Consultant appointments
    • Physiotherapy
    • Diagnostic tests such as MRI scans, blood tests and x-rays


    You can choose from Full Out-patient Cover, which includes unlimited Out-Patient visits and Diagnostic tests.

    Or you can opt for limited cover, which includes consultant appointments, physiotherapy and diagnostic tests up to a set limit of £500, £750, £1,000, £1,250 or £1,500.

  • Therapies CoverOpen or Close

    If your employees are suffering from back or neck pain, food intolerances or other general problems, their GP or consultant might refer them to a therapist.

    Therapies Cover includes:

    • Chiropractic treatment
    • Osteopathy
    • Chiropody/podiatry
    • Acupuncture
    • Homeopathy
    • Two consultations with a dietician

    Choose either:

    • Full cover
    • Cover up to £350 per plan year
  • Psychiatric CoverOpen or Close

    Your health insurance can look after your employees’ mental health too. Vitality provide cover for:

    • Consultations and treatment with a psychiatrist or psychologist
    • Hospital stays

    Levels of cover for each plan year:

    • £15,000 including an out-patient limit of £1,500
    • £20,000 including an out-patient limit of £1,500
  • Cancer CoverOpen or Close

    To meet your needs and budget, you can choose not to have Extended Cancer Cover.

    With Cancer Cover, Vitality cover eligible in-patient and out-patient costs if you and your employees are diagnosed with cancer. These costs include:

    • Radiotherapy, chemotherapy and follow-up consultations
    • Biological therapies*
    • Hormone and bisphosphonate therapies*
    • Cancer surgery and reconstructive surgery
    • Stem cell transplantation

    * A 12 Month limit applies on the use of biological therapies. A 3 Month limit will apply on hormone or bisphosphonate therapy when prescribed on their own.

  • Personal Health Fund / Employee Assistance ProgrammeOpen or Close

    The Personal Health Fund (PHF) can enhance the benefits offered to you and your employees, every year we pay an amount of money into a fund for each of the employees. They can use this to pay for everyday healthcare bills that aren't usually covered by private medical insurance - things like eye tests, dental check ups or £100 for a fitness device that tracks their activity. The more effort they make to get healthy, the more money we pay in to their PHF.

    The Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) can provide support, advice and expert assistance to help you and your employees through difficult times, which could otherwise affect their ability to lead a balanced and productive life.

    With EAP you and your employees will have:

    • Unlimited access to a 24-hour dedicated helpline providing debt counselling and legal and financial advice
    • Confidential face-to-face counselling where required. (Up to six free sessions per plan year)
  • Dental CoverOpen or Close

    Choose from two levels of cover. Whichever is selected, your employees are free to choose their own dentist.

    Major Dental Treatment:

    Vitality will provide cover for major dental treatment including:

    • Crowns
    • Bridges
    • Root canal treatment
    • Extractions
    • Dentures
    • Emergency dental work after an accident

    Major and Routine Dental Treatment:

    With this option Vitality cover everything in Major Dental Treatment. Vitality also cover routine examinations and scaling and polishing. And they cover dental x-rays and fillings, subject to the terms and condition of the plan.
    To get this cover, your employees need to have had a check-up with their regular dentist and finished any recommended treatment within twelve months before their cover starts.
